BRADENTON -- A missing 87-year-old Bradenton man was found OK Friday in Georgia, according to Bradenton police.

The Bradenton Police Department had issued a Silver Alert for Mathew Louis Bakala after he had gone missing Thursday. He had last been seen in the 4400 block of Fairways Boulevard, within the Pinebrook/Ironwood Condominium Complex in Bradenton.

Bakala has a history of dementia, and was in need of medical care, police said.

Police said Bakala's credit card was used about 5 p.m. Thursday to buy gasoline in Venice, then again at 10:32 p.m. in Hamilton County, in north Florida. Sheriff's deputies there investigated but could not find Bakala.

Later, police reported that Bakala's credit card had been used about 2:30 a.m. Friday in Atlanta.

About 10:40 a.m., police said he was found in "good health," in Marietta, Ga., after Bakala got help replacing a flat tire, according to Bradenton police Capt. William Fowler.
