FHP seeks silver Buick from Manatee hit-and-run

October 24, 2013

MANATEE — The Florida Highway Patrol is attempting to find the suspect in a hit-and-run accident at 4:55 p.m. Thursday on Cortez Road and 30th Street West.

The hit-and-run vehicle, described by FHP as a silver Buick perhaps from the 1990s or early 2000s, was traveling east on Cortez Road in the inside left lane at 30th Street West.

A 2007 Cadillac DTS driven by a 41-year-old Bradenton man was in front of the Buick in the same lane.

As the Cadillac driver slowed for traffic, the Buick driver did not, colliding with the rear of the Cadillac, a report states.

Anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has any knowledge as to the identity and or location of the hit and run driver or vehicle is asked the contact the Florida Highway Patrol at 239-938-1800.
