Manatee County golf courses wonderful in support of prep athletes

October 21, 2013

As the men's golf coach at Manatee High, I wanted to take a moment to thank three golf courses in their endless effort in supporting junior golf.

First, our home course at IMG helps three high school programs with a facility to train and host matches. They do this while maintaining their members' happiness and the academy's edge.

Second, Greenfield Plantation recently stepped forward to host the 18-hole County Championships, which includes public and private institutions in deciding who will have the best chance to go on after districts.

And finally, Sarabay Country Club and their cherished tradition of hosting the Don Ross tournament for both boys and girls in October. This full-day, 18-hole event shows students of the game team work and competitiveness while providing course marshals to help with a better understanding of the rules of golf.

Thank you members, management, pros, and staff for all you do for our children.
