VA medical staff provides high-quality health care

October 19, 2013

This is my first letter to a newspaper editorial department ... ever.

However, I feel compelled to salute the underpaid, underappreciated Veterans Administration medical personnel that have provided superior care to me and to countless others.

In particular, I must single out Dr. Delynn Murphy and her nurse, Juan Sanchez, at the Bradenton clinic for their outstanding professional service despite a huge patient load.

Also, I recently needed to drive to the VA Bay Pines Regional Center in St. Petersburg for tests pertaining to my heart function. Not only does the center resemble a beautifully landscaped college campus, the medical personnel there treated me with utmost respect and I received the highest quality care available, all at no cost to this Marine Corps veteran!

All Americans (based on my experience) should feel confident that their tax dollars are being very well utilized.
