I would like to thank the many hundreds who attended the Pat Mullins' Memorial Fundraiser on a beautiful, sunny day at the King Family Farm in Bradenton on Sept. 28.
Throngs of loving, thoughtful and especially generous neighbors, friends and family ate amazing pulled-pork sandwiches and smoked mullet, kicked up their heels with their children, watched a martial arts demonstration, shopped at the flea market, made winning bids at our silent auction and heard live bands at their best.
It was a clear demonstration of community spirit. And it took the Mullins' Fundraiser over the top, providing more than our $10,000 target for a reward leading to the arrest and prosecution of whoever is responsible for my husband's death last January, on another beautiful, sunny day.
Thank you especially to all those who donated items, money and time, and to those who so willingly worked the event, to students from numerous area high schools and to those who arrived with such lovely contributions for the silent auction.
It was a great day in Bradenton and a great day for a rejuvenation of spirit for the Mullins and John families. With the thankful additions of $10,000 from the Gold Star Club of Manatee County and $1,000 from Crime Stoppers, we hope to find closure in an arrest and prosecution in the case. Tips for the reward may be sent to PatMullinsMemorialFund@gmail.com.
From my heart, I thank you all.
Jill John Mullins
