Affordable Care Act violates Constitution as Senate tax

October 12, 2013

Re: Oct. 3 letter from James Frazier ("GOP in House committing punishable, treasonous acts").

Article 1 of the U.S. Constitution states that all bills for raising revenue (taxes) shall originate in the House of Representatives. The Affordable Care Act was not declared a tax until ruled so by the U.S. Supreme Court. At that time, the bill should have been declared null and void, as it originated in the Senate.
