Stalled car blocks DeSoto Bridge during rush hour

October 10, 2013

BRADENTON — A rush-hour traffic crash Thursday temporarily closed southbound traffic on the DeSoto Bridge.

Authorites on Thursday afternoon said the crippled vehicle blocking traffic will be removed shortly.

“There is a tow truck on the way,” Bradenton Police Capt. William Fowler said at 5:50 p.m. “Arrangements are being made to get it through to the accident.”

An in-depth report on the accident was not immediately available, but injuries seemed to be minor, said Bradenton Police Lt. James Racky.

The Palmetto Police Department is assisting Bradenton police in redirecting traffic.
