HERALD STAFF REPORTOctober 10, 2013

The Bradenton Marauders unveiled the logos on Wednesday for the 2014 Florida State League All-Star Game to be held on June 14 at McKechnie Field.

The 53rd annual game will pit the top players from the FSL South against an elite squad from the FSL North. Bradenton will be hosting its first all-star game.

The primary logo created for the 2014 All-Star Game incorporates several aspects of the Marauders' logos. McKechnie Field's iconic facade is prominently featured as the top border of the logo, with crossed bats emerging from the corners. The logos were designed by Studio Simon.

The Bradenton Marauders and Charlotte Stone Crabs have been nominated for a Minor League Baseball Yearly Award (MiLBY) for "Game of the Year."

The Marauders defeated the Stone Crabs 5-3 on Aug. 11 in Port Charlotte after Bradenton pitcher Zack Dodson threw seven no-hit innings and the Marauders pulled off a triple play to end the game in the bottom of the ninth.

The MiLB.com editorial board makes nominations with winners chosen by fan voting through Oct. 22 at http://www.milb.com/news/awards/y2013/index.jsp?category=game.
