Myakka City motorcyclist injured in collision with Lexus

MANATEE — A 45-year-old Mayakka City man riding a 1999 Harley Davidson Ultra Glide was seriously injured in an accident at 3:27 p.m. Sunday on State Road 64 East, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist was following a 2004 Lexus RX350 driven by a 55-year-old Myakka City woman eastbound in the right lane of State Road 64 approaching a driveway access to 24600 SR 64 E., according to the report.

The driver of the Lexus slowed and signaled a right turn as the motorcyclist traveled onto the paved shoulder south of SR 64 to pass. As the driver of theLexus turned right into the driveway, the left side of the motorcycle collided with the right side of the car, according to FHP.

The motorcycle driver was taken to Blake Medical Center.
