Donuts returning to Manatee Avenue

October 3, 2013

The former Basil's Chicken, 5601 Manatee Ave. W., has been demolished to make way for a new Dunkin' Donuts. Dunkin Brands Inc., the Canton, Mass.-based corporation that owns the Dunkin Donuts brand, has filed a site plan with the county for 5601 Manatee Ave. W., where the Basil's Chicken and Ribs restaurant was demolished this week. The new Dunkin Donuts will be next to the former Dunkin Donuts location, which stood as a fixture on Manatee Avenue until 2009. The Dunkin Donuts closed over a dispute with the franchise and unpaid franchise fees. The former building at 5605 Manatee Ave. W., was converted to a Salem's Gyros and Subs.
