Keith Urban is exploring new musical directions, and apparently his fans are following him.
His eighth studio album, "The Fuse," came out in September and Urban has been quoted as saying he wanted to see how far he could push himself musically. The album combines his trademark country sound with touches of R&B and even new age music.
Urban, the handsome Australian singer married to the gorgeous Australian actress Nicole Kidman, will be at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa Friday with his "Light the Fuse" tour. The title implies he'll be playing a lot of new songs, but don't be surprised if a lot of Urban classics are on the set list, too.
The tour features some impressive opening acts.
Little Big Town won a bunch of country music awards during the past decade or so it has been releasing albums. But the quartet garnered its first Grammy just this year for the Best Country Duo/Group Performance for its single "Pontoon."
Dustin Lynch hasn't been around that long, but he's made an impact. His debut album hit No. 1 on the country charts last summer, and his first single, "Cowboys and Angels," went to No. 2, sold almost a million copies and earned him a platinum record.
