About 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting near the intersection of 18th Avenue East and 17th Street East in Palmetto. Deputies also went to Manatee Memorial Hospital where two men had showed up in a vehicle that had its windows shot out, according to a news release.

The victims "said someone shot at them after they sold marijuana to two subjects in Palmetto," the report states.

The driver of the car suffered cuts when the window of his car shattered, the sheriff's office said.
