Cut out Saturday mail, create 50-cent stamps to save Postal Service

October 1, 2013

The federal government, (the President, the House, the Senate) and especially the Postmaster General are all worried about the deficit in the U.S Postal Service.

Any practical business person will tell you they need to increase revenue and cut expenses.

So, it seems to me that the U.S. Postal Department should cut out Saturday delivery and raise revenue by increasing the first-class stamp to 50 cents (not the 47 cents as they plan).

E-mail has removed a lot of revenue and we all need to help fund the solution to the problem and help our friend the "mailman".
