Sometimes everything just comes together. Heading into halftime at Palmetto High School's homecoming celebration last Friday, it might have seemed all was lost. The Bayshore Bruins had a hefty lead heading into halftime, and it was a mixed bag of emotions for students and fans hoping for a homecoming night win.But as the floats made their way around the stadium and the homecoming king and queen were crowned, a sea change rolled over Harllee Stadium, thanks in no small part to the overflow of school spirit on both sides of the fence separating the stands from the field.
And oh, to have been a fly on the wall in the Tigers locker room for what must have been a rousing halftime speech by the Tigers head coach Dave Marino.
Kudos to all the spirited students and fans who helped rally the Tigers to a dramatic fourth-quarter comeback. School spirit exemplified here by the Palmetto High School Dazzlers Dance Team. Tigers won 41-38.
