Bradenton police check into reported cyber-bullying

September 29, 2013

MANATEE — The mother of a Manatee County School District student has called the Bradenton Police Department to report her daughter being bullied by a juvenile.

The mother notified officers around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the BPD.

BPD detectives reportedly determined the victim was threatened to fight via posts on Facebook. The detectives also determined students from Lee and King middle schools could be involved in the cyber-bullying through a cheerleading team they belong to at G.T. Bray Park, according to the report.

Police intend to contact school resource officers.
