Exceptional education students shortchanged in Manatee County district budget

September 27, 2013

Once again elected leaders and appointed officials have chosen to stick it to the students. They boast how they have "fixed the budget" but at what costs to students?

My son is ESE and the school board and the administration are failing him and many others. They won't take a pay cut but refuse to take them on educational field trips because there is no money for transportation? Shame on you!

This is just one example. My son and all the other special needs children -- in fact, even mainstream children -- are not sheep. They are human beings. Until you're willing to take pay cuts anything you say is simply nonsense.
