Gunmen pull off carjacking in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Two robbers, including one armed with a shotgun, pulled off a carjacking in Bradenton on Thursday afternoon, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 4:49 p.m., the two victims -- a 37-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman pulled into the driveway of a residence in the 3100 block of 35th Avenue West, according to a news release.

They told deputies they saw one suspect standing in the driveway while another suspect emerged from the rear of the residence, armed with a shotgun, according to the report.

The armed man pointed the shotgun at the victims through the passenger window and demanded they leave their belongings on the floorboard and get out. They left two cell phones and $20 in cash, as the suspects entered the vehicle and fled, the sheriff's office said.

The first suspect was described as being 17 to 25 years old and standing 6 feet, 3 inches tall. He had short black hair and wearing a long-sleeved, peach-colored hoodie and khaki shorts, according to the sheriff's office.

A description of the victims' car was not provided.
