The German American Society of Pinellas Park will host the Oktoberfest celebrations beginning at 5 p.m. Sept. 27-28, Oct. 4-5, and Oct. 11-12. The festivities begin under the big tent where guests can enjoy genuine German culture, including food, folk dancers, live music and a variety of vendors offering German merchandise. Mixon Fruit Farms will host a Summer Antiques, Arts and Crafts Fair 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 28 and every fourth Saturday of the month through September. "Plug In Day: Electrify the Island": 1600 Ken Thompson Pkwy., Sarasota
Mote Marine will host "Plug In Day: Electrify the Island" 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 29, an electric vehicle and sustainable energy expo featuring electric vehicle displays, ride-and-drive sessions, vendors, food, music and discount admission to the Aquarium. Plug In Day will be followed by a post-event electric vehicle rally. Busch Gardens is hosting its annual "Howl-O-Scream" 7:30 p.m.-1 a.m. Sept. 27-Oct. 26 featuring and overgrown park, dark, sinister, adult-targeted fun and the chance to ride adrenaline-fueled coasters at night, including Florida's first triple-launch coaster, Cheetah Hunt.
Lowry Park Zoo's "ZooBoo," will be a ghoulish good time for all featuring haunted houses and trails offering a range of "scare factor," 7-11 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays and 7-10 p.m. on other select nights Oct. 4-27. The annual Pumpkin Toss will be 11 a.m. Oct. 18 featuring animals stomping, chomping, kicking, laying and pouncing on special seasonal treats.
Florida Aquarium's "Guppyween" will be 4-8 p.m. Oct. 27. Visitors in costumes can roam the aquarium and younger guests can trick-or-treat from tank-to-tank among more than 20,000 sea creatures,
Fantasma Fest in Ybor City will kick off Oct. 24 featuring a little Monster's Promenade, trick-or-treating among the merchants in Centro Ybor. A pumpkin patch in the courtyard, the first annual Bed Races, where riders on wheeled beds race along three blocks, and the 28th Annual Guavaween Costume Contest, featuring live music at the Centro Ybor Stage, will be Oct. 26.
Hyde Park Village: A Pumpkin Patch, featuring plump pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, as well as festive photo opportunities will be open noon-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday-Sunday Oct. 10-30.
Fall Festival, a month-long event at Horse Power for Kids will be 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays Oct. 5-27, will feature hay rides, face painting, farm animals, bonfire, games music, scarecrow contest and more.
Halloween Scavenger Hunt at the Old Tampa Book Company will be Oct. 23-31 during the 7-Days-7-Freaky Finds' event.
