BRADENTON -- Overturf's Cleaning has expanded its carpet and fabric cleaning service to accommodate area and Oriental rug cleaning.

"When people have nice area rugs in their homes, like Oriental rugs or rugs made out of wool, those rugs require special attention and care," said co-owner Stefanie Overturf.

Area rugs, which can cost as much as $60,000, are cleaned using a three-step process.

First, the rugs are dusted front and back with a gentle tool that removes excess dirt. Then they are placed in a pool to be scrubbed and rinsed out. Then they are moved to a drying table that blows air underneath the rugs or they are hung up to dry.

"This process prevents them from damage if they were to be cleaned at home," Overturf said. "We're able to use special cleaners to prevent color bleeding or color loss."

Rug cleaning starts around $250, but customers who have nice rugs

don't mind the steep price, Overturf said. Customers value their rugs like pieces of art.

Overturf started the carpet cleaning business with her husband ,Jeremy Overturf, out of their garage in 2010. Since then, they have gained certification through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning Restoration Certification. In July, they moved from their garage to a space at 3115 81st Ct. E.

Overturf said their prices are a little higher than other area carpet cleaners because the quality of service is exceptional.

"Our clients are mostly single family homeowners who are more interested in having a 100 percent guarantee and outstanding service versus getting the lowest price," she said.
