FHP seeks information about 2 hit-and-run crashes in Manatee

MANATEE -- Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information about two hit-and-run drivers in Manatee County early Friday, according to reports.

About 12:14 a.m., the driver of a a dark SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Blazer, was westbound on 63rd Avenue East near Ninth Street east, when they traveled onto the north shoulder and struck a utility pole. The driver then left the scene, according to a report.

A little more than two hours later, at 2:31 a.m., a motorist heading east on 53rd Avenue West ran the red light at 14th Street West, turned left onto 14th Street West and hit another car. The driver, who was in what was described as a dark sedan, then left the scene, according to a report.

No injuries were reported.
