Main Street Live, the popular downtown Bradenton street party, was supposed to get started again tonight after its usual summer hiatus.

But the Old Main Street Merchants Association has postponed this week's event because there's apparently a nasty rain storm heading our way.

The National Weather Service says there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in Bradenton on Thursday, mainly between 5 and 8 p.m.

Main Street Live is usually held from 5 to 10 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month on Old Main Street in downtown Bradenton. The event has been rescheduled for Sept. 26 instead. Same time, same location.

The Cherry Bombs were slated to provide the live music for Thursday's event, and they'll be at next week's show.
