Armed with shotguns, assailants rob couple in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Two shotgun-wielding assailants robbed a couple as they were walking along a Bradenton street early Thursday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 2 a.m., the man and woman were walking in the 400 block of 60th Avenue West when they saw a car turn and stop in front of them, according to a news release.

Two men armed with shotguns got out of the car and demanded money. The driver did not get out f the car, according to the report.

The robbers took three cell phones, then got back into the car and fled the scene.

One of the suspects was described as standing about 6 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds. He had a goatee and was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and dark blue jean shorts.

The other suspect was described as standing 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He had a scruffy beard and was wearing a dark blue shirt and black jeans shorts.
