2 masked gunmen rob 7-Eleven store in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Two masked gunmen robbed a 7-Eleven store in Bradenton early Thursday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 12:15 a.m., the assailants walked in to the store at 4208 59th St. W., just north of Cortez Road, showed a gun and took cash, cigarettes and other items, according to a news release.

Neither of the two clerks, who prepared themselves to be robbed when they saw two masked me approach the store, were injured, according to the sheriff's office.

A K-9 unit responded, and deputies said it appeared the gunmen had a car parked nearby the store.

The robbers were described as standing between 5 feet, 9 inches and 6 feet tall, and one of them was skinny. One of them was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, and the other, who was carrying a handgun, was wearing a black shirt. Both were wearing heavy yard gloves, and had their faces covered, according to the report.
