In answer to Manatee County refusing to let the people in Colony Cove use their golf carts on U.S. 301: We don't want to go on the highway itself, we just want to be able to use the sidewalk to get to the different stores.
The sidewalk is very wide and easily accommodates a golf cart. If and when we see any people walking down the sidewalk, we always move to the side so they can pass. We see bicycles on these sidewalks all the time but if we use it, we stand to get a ticket from the sheriff's department.
Some of the people using the golf carts no longer have driver licenses and need the cart to get their food. Can't the commissioners help to let us use the sidewalks?
