SARASOTA -- IMG Performance, the division of sports and entertainment giant IMG that has its headquarters on the campus of IMG Academy, has launched its IGNITE 360 Personal Training System - IGNITE 360 Fitness.
IMG will host a grand opening on Saturday for IGNITE 360 Fitness, a personal training business in Sarasota, where a certified trainer offers small group training session. Each session is one-hour and services all levels of fitness across four training lanes. Programming is divided into three phrases -- Integrated, Dynamic, Performance -- over 6-week training sessions. After practicing the training process, participants move into the 'Infinity Program,' a continuous cycle of performance improvement.
The IGNITE 360 training methodology that is the foundation of the new facility has been used at IMG Academy for more than thirty years to develop high-performing athletes. In 2012, IGNITE
360 was introduced into the broader training community as a trainer certification platform and has since gained a following.
"It has been part of a long time vision for the Ignite 360 property," said Kim Berard, a spokes person for IMG Academy. "The first phase was building a training facility and certifying trainers from around the country."
The certification program has been under way for a couple of years now and that grew into the new facility in Sarasota. IMG is simply packaging the training methodology that the sports performance company has used for decades for the consumer, the every day athlete, who wants a program customized for his or her fitness level, Berard said.
"The future will naturally include expanding," Berard said. "But for now our focus is on this facility in our back yard."
The grand opening, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. will feature a visit from legendary tennis coach Nick Bollettieri. IGNITE 360 Fitness is located at 4141 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.
