BRADENTON -- Detectives are searching for four people who beat a Bradenton man outside his home and then shot him, according to Bradenton Police.

The four suspects entered an apartment in the 1800 block of 13th Avenue East in Oakmeade Apartments at 3:32 a.m. waving a gun and confronted the victim, according to a report.

The victim's significant other begged them to take the argument outside, police say, and the victim was taken to the south side of the building. He was beaten and then shot in the right side of his head.

Police say the suspects fled in a black car, and the victim went back inside his apartment. The victim was later transported to Blake Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects have been identified, but police have been unable to locate them.
