— BRADENTON -- A man was shot in the head early Saturday after he was dragged and beaten at the Oakmede Apartments, police reported.

The incident occurred just after 3:30 a.m. when four suspects entered an apartment at Oakmede Apartments, 1831 13th Ave. E, brandishing a firearm and confronting the victim, according to the report.

The victim’s significant other pleaded with the suspects to take the argument outside, and they brought the victim to the south side of the building and began to batter him. A shot went off and the victim was shot in the right side of his head, the report stated.

The suspects fled in a black vehicle and the victim went back inside the apartment, police said. The injured man, who knows the suspects, was later taken to Blake Hospital.

The victim was reported in stable condition later this morning.
