Dear Cancer: I hate the fact that I am even taking the time to write this letter to you! You are a curse and a destroyer of families.
I know of you from personal experience with family, friends, and super heroes. You take the mightiest of us and bring them to their knees. We have lost too many super heroes to you, Cancer.
This ends now! I am proud of the survivors. I am proud more people than ever before are looking into the eyes of Cancer and finding the courage to fight, win, and celebrate your defeat.
This is the power we have over Cancer. The Survivor is a testament to the power research, technology, therapy, God, and the will that make humanity strong.
I will join this fight! I am not a survivor, so I will meet with others to participate in research that will help ensure your defeat and more survivors.
The American Cancer Society and Manatee Memorial Hospital are working together from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 26 to conduct Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). This is a once-in-a-generation research study, allowing me to do something to help defeat you.
I said yes! I am between 30 and 65 years old, I have never been diagnosed with cancer (not including basal or squamous cell skin cancer). I will take 30-60 minutes on Sept. 26, and I will follow up to ensure your defeat.
I am proud of our survivors. I am proud I can participate. I am proud of my community.
I hope others will join me www.cancer.org/cps3florida or www.manateememorial.com. I hope to never have to write this letter again.
With great appreciation,
