Sheriff: Man robs Bradenton gas station, gets away on bicycle

MANATEE -- Deputies are searching for a man who robbed a Bradenton gas station Tuesday morning, and got away on a bicycle, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 9 a.m., the robber entered the Citgo gas station at 6920 14th St. W., and asked the clerk if he could use the bathroom, according to a news release.

He left and then returned holding a large kitchen knife and demanded money from he clerk. The clerk gave the suspect money and the suspect left on a small bike heading south bound on U.S. 41, according to the report.

The suspect was described as being about 25 years old. He stands about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has facial hair on his chin, and was described as wearing a grey short sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
