Masked gunman robs 7-Eleven store in East Manatee

MANATEE -- A masked gunman early Tuesday robbed a 7-Eleven store in East Manatee, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 12:55 a.m., the robber entered the store at 5914 53rd Ave. E., pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded the clerk open the cash registered. After receiving cash, the gunman ran out the front door, according to a news release.

The suspect was described as standing about 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall and with a slim build. He was wearing a dark hoodie and a bandana over his face, according to the report.
