Sheriff: Burglary suspect arrested in Bradenton after woman catches him in her home

September 9, 2013

MANATEE -- A 21-year-old "career criminal" was arrested after a Bradenton woman found him burglarizing her home Monday morning, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 11 a.m., the woman arrived at her home in the 200 block of 65th Avenue Drive West and found Braxton Pierson inside, according to a news release.

Pierson ran away before deputies arrived but suspecting his involvement, they went to a nearby associate's home where they found Pierson pretending to be asleep in a bedroom, the sheriff's office said.

The victim responded to the associate's residence and identified Pierson as the man who broke into her home. Pierson was then arrested on a burglary charge, according to the report.
