MANATEE -- A woman is accused of robbing another woman who was giving her a ride to Walmart, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

Deputies say the 44-year-old victim had given the suspect a ride home from near the Walmart on East State Road 64 in Bradenton sometime around 7 p.m. Friday. Once at the suspect's home on Kay Road, 26-year-old Kaela Bartholomew said she may have left her wallet at the Walmart and asked for a ride back.

On the way there, Bartholomew "displayed a weapon and demanded money from the victim," according to the sheriff's report.

Bartholomew took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and directed her to drive to a nearby Days Inn, where she told the woman to wait for her while she was in a hotel room.

The victim left the area once Bartholomew was out of sight, deputies said.

Bartholomew was located and arrested on an outstanding out of county warrant. "She refused to speak about the crime without a lawyer present," the report states.

Bartholomew is also facing charges of armed robbery and false imprisonment. She was being held at Manatee County jail on $200 bond.
