BRADENTON -- The Sarasota Area Sports Alliance in collaboration with the Sarasota County Sports Commission is hosting its September Sports Spotlight at IMG Academy Stadium, 5694 47th St., W., Bradenton on Sept. 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Chris Ciaccio, IMG Academy's VP of marketing and sales, and Loren Seagrave, IMG's director of track & field and cross country will welcome and tour interested attendees, highlighting the IMG Academy Stadium Phase I Reveal details and future plans.

Steve Padgett, vice president & principal architect, Fawley Bryant, will introduce the event.

Admission is $15. Attendees will receive one complimentary beverage and light appetizers. In addition the first 100 to RSVP will also receive a complimentary ticket for the Sept. 27 IMG Academy Football played at home game against The First Academy at 7.30 p.m.

Fitness club rebrands itself with name change

LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Goga Studios Lakewood Ranch has changed its name to Vibology.

The change is part of a complete rebranding strategy to emphasize the business' commitment to health, wellness and fitness.

"Becoming an independent studio allows us the ability to create a brand that will raise the bar of services, products and results for our members," owner Jan DeStasio said.

Vibology specializes in fitness via vibration training, infrared sauna treatments, ionized alkaline water hydration, and Himalayan Salt products.

Neal Communities has strong sales in August

LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Neal Communities recorded 65 new home sales in August, continuing a record-setting sales year for the Lakewood Ranch-based, new home builder. This puts Neal at 600 sales for the year, with four months to go in 2013.

Notable neighborhoods this month included Central Park at Lakewood Ranch with 13 sales and Belleisle in Country Club East at Lakewood Ranch with seven sales. Neal also sold five houses at Forest Creek in Parrish, four at Fairfield in Bradenton and four at its newest neighborhood in Parrish, Sugar Mill Lakes.

SCF offers certification courses for teachers

BRADENTON -- State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota will host an information session about its Alternative Certification Program for people who want to become teachers.

The program is for people who have at least a bachelor's degree with a noneducation major, or teachers with temporary certifi

cates who need professional course work.

An hour-long session is scheduled for 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 9, room 105.

After finishing all courses in the program and passing required state and college exams, participants will receive certificates of completion that make them eligible for the Florida Department of Education's professional teaching certificate. Evening and weekend scheduling of classes allows working professionals to participate. The cost for the program is approximately $2,200.
