MANATEE -- Local law enforcement is looking for the driver in a hit-and-run accident on University Parkway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 4:25 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of University Parkway and Cooper Creek Boulevard, according to a news release.
A 24-year-old Sarasota woman in a Volkswagen Beetle was stopped in the left westbound lane of University Parkway east of Cooper Creek Boulevard. A blue Ford Mustang reportedly was also in the left westbound lane on University approaching Cooper Creek and failed to stop.
The Mustang crashed in the back of the woman's Beetle and then drove off.
The driver of the blue Mustang was described as a bald male, possibly in his 30s. There may have also been a female passenger, according to the report.
An infant was in the victim's car, but no injuries were reported.
