Sarasota's Ringling Underground returns

The popular Ringling Underground series, with night-time, open-air events aimed at younger crowds, returns tonight.

The series is scheduled for the first Thursday in September, October and November.

On tap is a "College Night" theme and three bands from Florida: local act Good Graeff, Orlando's Alias Punch and St. Augustine-based Levek, headlining at 10 p.m.

Besides getting to hear the bands, attendees will have access to the museum's "American Moderns, 1910-1960: From O'Keeffe to Rockwell" special exhibition.

If you want to plan ahead, the Oct. 3 installment of the Ringling Underground will features a Boston-based electronic pop quartet headliner Bearstronaut from 10-11 p.m. Also performing that evening are RaeF and The Other Ryan Willis. The special exhibition open for the October event is "Witness to War: WWII Photographs from the Collections of Veterans."

And on Nov. 7, the series offers Megan Jean and the KFB, who blend of Americana, punk, dance and the avant-garde. Opening are Jun Bustamante and Dean Johanesen The special exhibition is "Icons of Style: Fashion Makers, Models, and Images."

Tickets: $10 for adults; $5 for children 6-17, free for children ages 5 and younger, college student with ID and museum Members are free.
