Health insurance policies have too high a deductible

September 1, 2013

Regarding the upcoming Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, I have noticed that insurance companies, online, for example, are quoting $150-$200 a month for health insurance (depending on the individual) but there is anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 deductible! I do not consider that affordable.

So far it sounds like only the insurance companies will come out ahead unless much more accurate information is given to people. Hopefully the newspapers and television will help educate consumers about any hidden costs so that an individual can make the best decision regarding future mandatory health insurance.
