BRADENTON -- A Bradenton man is charged with child abuse after he made a prostitution deal while a small child was in the back seat of the car, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Carlos Mejia Diaz, 28, was arrested at 6:03 p.m. Thursday after making the deal with an undercover police officer.

Diaz approached and began to talk with the undercover officer. An agreement was made for services in exchange for $20, according to police.

A team of officers were then called out once the deal was made and Diaz was taken into custody.

Diaz was released Friday from Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $1,500.
