SARASOTA -- Two convicted felons face drug and weapons charges after they were arrested when they fled from a traffic stop, according to Sarasota police.

About 4:50 p.m. Thursday, officers with the Sarasota police Street Crime Unit stopped the car in the 1000 block of Putnam Drive because they believe it had illegally tinted windows.

"When the vehicle stopped, several subjects ran from officers but were caught after a short foot chase," police said in a news release.

In the car, officers found three guns, crack cocaine and marijuana, police said.

Arrested on multiple drug and weapons-related charges were Jalen J. Bellamy and Terry L. McDonald Jr., both 21.
