NORMAN WINTER — MCT

Kudos to Dr. Gartenberg of the Pet Clinic in Bradenton for kindness, compassion and courtesy during our recent visit to have our 15-year -old doxie put to sleep. He not only gave us the privacy and respect we needed, he even mailed a hand-written letter to us expressing his sympathy and understanding of the need to do this as her quality of life would not improve. He even mentioned how sweet she was during the eight years of her boarding with them. We miss her terribly, but felt so much better after receiving his unexpected letter.

Caretakers thanked

At a time of grieving, you still need to take time to thank those that stood by you and comforted you. Although tears continue to flow, many have helped in the healing process. On July 22nd, our son left us for a better place.

We would like to express our gratitude to the first responders and the medical staff at Manatee Memorial Hospital for their efforts in trying to save Jim. Father Tom for being there and helping us cope with the devastating news.

For all those that gave words of condolences, sent cards of sympathy, sent flowers, food and gave us that hug we so needed, thank you.

For the employees of the Palmetto Post Office where Jim worked and other postal employees

who showered us with love and the compassion and love showed by our postal customers, thank you for being there for us.

A special thank you to Jim's Aunt Lois, Aunt Rita and Aunt Linda, the countless hours you spent helping us will never be forgotten.

Jim had sarcoidosis, and the damage it did to his vital organs finally took its final toll on him. Sarcoidosis is a mostly unkown disease, with no known reason for why someone gets it and no known cure. May we all learn more about this sometimes fatal disease.

And finally, a special thanks to Jim's nephew Dylan, his niece Emily and his godmother Aunt Linda for being there with him. He's looking down on you now and watching over you.
