EAST MANATEE -- Manatee County's newest Starbucks is now open off of State Route 64.

The Starbucks at 6521 State Route 64 E. held a soft opening Friday, according to staff. This is the 11th Starbucks in Manatee County and the sixth in the Bradenton area.

The new location features prepared food, pastries, beans, a communal table, leather chairs and free WiFi.

The store is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays, 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays.

No other Starbucks are planned for the area, according to a Starbucks spokesman.

"At this time, we remain focused on serving Manatee County communities at our existing stores and have no additional store-opening plans to announce," the spokesman said.

The addition of a new Starbucks store is a rarity after years of growth in Manatee County. The expansion of Starbucks has slowed in recent years in the United States and contracted since 2008 in Florida.
