August 27, 2013

SARASOTA -- The Sarasota Police Department is investigating the death of a man found on the sandbar in Big Pass.

A passing boater Tuesday morning found the body of Cresente C. Bautista, 59, of Fort Myers.

A native of the Philippines, Cresente is the owner of the C B Marine Construction Company. This company is currently repairing a seawall at Bay Island Park in the area of the Siesta Bridge west end.

The investigation is continuing, but police said detectives have not found any evidence of foul play in Bautista's death.

Big Pass, which runs from Sarasota Bay to the Gulf of Mexico, is located between Lido Key to the north and Siesta Key to the south.
