Weather alert: Fog will give way to a sunny Tuesday in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Patchy fog early Tuesday was expected to give way to a mostly sunny day in Bradenton, according to the National Weather Service.

The expected high is near 90, with east-northeasterly winds of 7 to 10 mph. The chance of rain is 30 percent, with scattered showers and thunderstorms most likely between 2 and 8 p.m., according to the Weather Service.

The expected low Tuesday night is around 74.

As for the fog, the Weather Service said it would affect west-central and southwest portions of the state until at least 7:15 p.m. The affected area extends along Interstate 75 from Lee County in the south to Sumter County in the north.

"Visibilities below 1 mile are possible, and travelers should plan on taking extra time," the Weather Service said. "Remember to use your low-beam headlights when driving through area of fog."
