Palmetto cancels Monday meeting after notice mixup
PALMETTO -- The Palmetto City Commission canceled its Monday meeting after giving improper public notice.
Jim Freeman, Palmetto city clerk, said the notice should have indicated the meeting would be between the Community Redevelopment Agency Board and the Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board. Instead it was advertised as a CRA advisory board and commission meeting.
"For that reason we rescheduled the meeting," said Freeman.
Freeman said he was not sure yet when the joint meeting would be rescheduled to discuss the CRA 2014 proposed budget.
Palmetto's next regular meeting is at 7 p.m. Sept. 9.
The commission will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 to set a tentative budget.
The final budget adoption meeting will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 23.
