MANATEE -- A man threatened a 20-year-old store clerk who chased him down after he stole two faucets, according to the Manatee Sheriff's Office.

The theft occurred at 12:27 p.m. Saturday at Home Depot, 2350 Cortez Rd. W., in Bradenton, according to a news release.

Employees spotted the suspect as he ran out of the store with the two faucets and yelled at him to stop.

A store clerk chased the suspect into the parking lot when he took out a knife and warned him to stop.

The suspect took off around the back of the Home Depot and was last seen at the old BP gas station, deputies said. Both faucets were later found there, and a sheriff's K9 responded but was unable to track the suspect.

The suspect was reported to be a man in his 20's with brown hair, about 5-foot-10 and weighing 150 pounds. He was wearing a grey ball cap, blue shirt and jeans.
