BRADENTON -- A prostitute was shot after a disagreement over the pre-paying of services, according to Bradenton Police.

The shooting occurred at about 1:20 a.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of Nine Street West, according to a police report.

A male suspect and the victim reportedly met and pulled into a parking lot, where they began to argue over him paying for services beforehand. When the two could not come to an agreement, the victim got out of the car and began to walk away.

As the suspect drove off, police say he shot at her, hitting her in the back. The victim ran to the Dolphin Lounge, and the Manatee County Sheriff's Office and paramedics were called.

The injuries were non-life threatening, authorities said.

No arrest has been made. The investigation is ongoing.
