MANATEE COUNTY -- The Manatee County Tiger Bay lunch meeting, which was scheduled for Sept. 5 to be a discussion about Long Bar Pointe, has been canceled.
Organizers said members and guests who made reservations will receive a refund for the event.
Tiger Bay is a discussion forum created to bring timely issues of concern to our community to the forefront and allow members a chance to question experts to gain knowledge and understanding of those issues.
In this instance, Tiger Bay leaders said, the decision of speakers to withdraw from the meeting changed the character of the event sufficiently that it was impossible to create the intended opportunity.
Tiger Bay has set Oct. 3 for its next meeting. The discussion will be Feld Entertainment in Ellenton.
