Shame on Bradenton for canceling JROTC event reservation

August 24, 2013

For more than 10 years the JROTC cadets of our six high schools have celebrated their yearly Military Ball in the Bradenton Auditorium. Year after year the auditorium has been reserved during the previous years around the same time to have this magnificent event.

This year the auditorium called and left a message in voicemail to cancel our event because they have a "longstanding relationship" with another patron, and that patron now wants to have his event the same day as ours. The Bradenton Auditorium kicked us under the bus.

I understand that business is business, and maybe the other patron uses the auditorium more hours than we do, meaning more money. But what happened with "our" longstanding relationship?

It is shameful that we can no longer trust anyone. They did not even have the professional courtesy of telling us personally. How disrespectful. How sad. How appalling.
