Sarasota woman charged with stealing more than $8,200 from her pizza shop employer

SARASOTA -- A 21-year-old Sarasota woman has been charged with stealing her employer's checkbook and writing more than $8,200 in checks, according to the Sarasota Police Department.

Police say Abbi Sloan wrote more than 20 checks totaling $4,425.25 to herself and $3,776.06 to her boyfriend.

Sloan was employee at Lucia's Pizza, 1812. S. Osprey Ave.

Sloan, who was arrested Wednesday, has been charged with felony grand theft and uttering forged instruments. She was released from Sarasota County jail after posting bonds totaling $3,000 bond.
