Weather alert: Thursday likely to be bring more heat, storms to Bradenton

MANATEE -- The weather in Bradenton on Thursday ought to seem familiar.

As in recent days, the National Weather is calling for warm sunshine -- a high near 92, with heat index values as high as 99 -- followed by showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

The chance of rain is 60 percent, with showers and thunderstorms most likely between 2 p.m. and midnight.

The expected low Thursday night is around 74.

As for the tropics, the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico are free of anything that might development into a tropical storm or hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center.
