MANATEE — MANATEE A 20-year-old woman used her cell phone camera Monday to help authorities catch an alleged burglar in Manatee County.
Moments after Tony Reyes allegedly removed an air compressor underneath the overhang of a home in the 5400 block of First Street East at 1:52 p.m., the woman pulled up to the house and confronted him, according to a Manatee County Sheriffs Office report.
The woman took photographs of Reyes and of his vehicle and the compressor before Reyes fled the scene.
Armed with a picture of the vehicle, the suspect, and the compressor, deputies later located the vehicle and Reyes, according to the report.
Reyes, 48, was arrested and charged with grand theft. The stolen air compressor was recovered.
Reyes was released from the Manatee County jail after posting a $120 bond, according to the sheriffs office website.
